Damiani Named to Team of the Matchday 20
Damiani Scored the Union's Lone Goal in Their 1-0 Victory Over the Chicago Fire
Bruno Damiani became the 11th different Philadelphia Union player to earn a spot on the Team of the Matchday for his goal in the Union’s 1-0 victory over the Chicago Fire on Wednesday night during Matchday 20.
Damiani scored from a penalty kick in the 10th minute after Chris Donovan won the penalty when his cross struck the hand of Chicago’s Andrew Gutman. With this goal, Damiani now has three goals in 18 appearances (10 starts) across 973 minutes for the Union this season.
Damiani played 88 minutes, completed 25 of 33 passes, created two chances, won 10 of 15 duels, and drew eight fouls
The Union extended their unbeaten streak to 11 games with their victory over Chicago. This win marked their sixth away victory of the season, tying them with Chicago and Cincinnati for the most in MLS. The Union return to action this Sunday at Lower.com Field to face the Columbus Crew (9-3-7, 34 points) at 6 p.m. ET (MLS Season Pass on Apple TV / Apple TV+).
